How to get free traffic and leads using Traffic Exchanges

Last time I wrote an article about how to get free traffic and leads using Safe Lists, instead of just paying for Google Adwords. Well this month I want to talk about using Traffic Exchanges to do exactly the same thing.


Traffic Exchanges (or just TEs) are another great way to get free traffic and hopefully some extra leads for your sales funnel. The way they work is that you surf a bunch of websites on a TE earning credits as you go. You can then spend those credits on advertising so other members view your site whilst they are earning credits themselves.


Now you do not need to be a genius to work out that TEs do not provide a great quality level of traffic. Similar to Safe Lists, other members are only viewing your site to earn credits for themselves. So to grab their attention, do not simply point them to your home page. You need a very simple eye-catching splash page with a graphic and maybe a couple of lines of text that will either have your opt-in form on it or direct the viewer to your opt-in page.


The downside to using TE's (similar again to using Safe Lists) is that it can be a bit repetitive earning credits as you are basically clicking for as long as you can stand.

A great tip to generate traffic fast is to sign up to as many of these traffic exchange sites as you can, and then surf the sites each in a different window or tab so you can click 'next' to load the next site but instead of waiting 30 seconds or so you can click through all your other open windows so you won't be waiting at all!

How to get free traffic and leads using safelists

One of the most popular ways to build your list with subscribers is to use Google Adwords. Adwords is such a dominant force that you can test new markets and send traffic immediately as long as you can afford to do so.

But what is the best way to get traffic and leads for free?

The best way is probably by creating a lot of great content in a bid to generate organic traffic. But that takes time and lot of effort.

There is another great way to build your list for free. By using Safelists, or now also known as List Builders. If you do not know how safelists work, the concept is simple. You sign up (usually for free) to be able to email your message to the safelist owners list of subscribers. What's in it for the owner? Well they can send you their own messages and there is also a chance you will pay to upgrade to a higher level of membership.

Safelists came about after the recent canspam laws were enforced. Offering 'safe' lists of prospects that have all agreed to become members, there is no chance of being accused of sending spam.

To benefit from safelists you really need to sign up to as many as possible. But because each safelist has its own restrictions on how often you can send messages, this presents a problem. If you want to squeeze the most out of using safelists you have to keep track of when you are allowed to send the next message for each safelist.

There is a program called Viral Mail Profits that allows you to manage all your safe lists in one place. It is free to use so definitely worth looking in to if you want to get the most out of using safelists.

But which safelists should you try?

Well I have compiled a list of ones I have personally tried and know that they produce results, I recently put up a new site and tracked the stats. It was no surprise that a majority of the NEW leads I generated were due to list builders. Here are just a few of the stats:

Can you make money taking surveys?

You may have seen the make money taking surveys site, but you wondered if you could indeed make as much as they claim you can. I have signed up for a few of these survey sites, and I roughly know how this process works. It is generally not a scam, as companies are indeed willing to pay people who take their surveys, but there are sites that make income claims that are much more than what they can provide.

Last year I tried a handful of free survey sites, all with disappointing results. You either get too few surveys to complete or the reward is minimal. I think the best survey I filled out was for like $5 which took me more than half an hour to complete. Do the math, that's like minimum wage at best.

Different survey sites will compensate you in different ways. I no longer waste my time filling out surveys from free sites, because their reward is often a lucky draw which I have never won. You should really only consider survey sites that demand a fee. But even if you do decide to join a paid site, there are several things about the site that you should understand before joining.

Firstly, you need to understand your income potential. Find out how frequent you will receive surveys, and how and when you will be getting paid. All these factors should be examined first before you hand your hard earned money to the sites.

If you can find credible information regarding the paid survey site that you interested, it is very likely that you have found a well paying site. Check to see if there are people who are successfully earning a good income with the site.

I would only recommend this particular Survey Site as you do get highly paid surveys from a rather large collection to choose from.
If you are only interested in FREE Survey Sites, then I would recommend Vindale Research.

How to make sales on Clickbank

I am very pleased with myself.

I made my first handful of sales on Clickbank this month, which I only realised by accident!

I had always presumed that Clickbank would send me an email if I made a sale, but no you have to check the site!

Anyway, how am I finally making sales on Clickbank after more than a year of trying to do so?

Well there are two very important factors that you need to have in place to succesfully make affiliate sales :

1) Traffic - I finally decided to invest some money into Adwords and figure out how the thing works!

2) Autoresponder loaded with tried and tested emails and splash pages.


Here is how I learnt both :

If you want to learn about Adwords you need to go to a proven Adwords specialist, try this guy.

If you want the tried and tested emails to load into your autoresponder, you need an email marketing specialist, try this one.

Affiliate X Factor Review - Part 3

So, I have finally completed the six week course Affiliate X Factor.  Before I evaluate the overall effectiveness of this course, here is a run down of what you learn in weeks 3-6 :-

Week 3 - Andrew Fox begins to examine the email templates that he sends out to his lists and uncovers the first four emails. You can download these email templates to use yourself. A timetable is shown for when to send out each email and some tips on how to build your relationship with your list.

Week 4 - The next three emails are shown which are the big ones that make you money. Also explains the usefulness of including bonuses and how to deliver them.

Week 5 - Explains the 'Pre-sell' technique to be used occasionally to boost sales. Includes templates for the presell email and two web pages.

Week 6 - The last two emails left are analysed which are follow up emails that are vitally important. Some final tips are also offered to finish the course.


Conclusion

The main bulk of this course is the email marketing.

Andrew shows you step by step his emails that he sends to his list and also a timetable showing when to send them to make himself the most money. He also shows you some very useful website templates that you can copy for yourself.

The only weakness to this course in my opinion is the lack of Adwords content. Andrew admits he is not an Adwords specialist and so runs through the basics of setting up an Adwords account.

However, if you are a new to affiliate marketing and need some direction on either the emails side of things or capturing sign ups with a splash page, then I could not recommend this course enough. Andrew Fox makes everything simple. Step by step, you watch the videos, listen to what he has to say and copy his email and website templates.

Affiliate X Factor Review - Part 2

I'm quite excited at the moment as I am going through the Affiliate X Factor program which is a six week course - the idea is that you focus on one week an then a the following week the next video is sent to be watched.

Well I just finished Week 2 which I was able to break down into two sections for my notes (you are asked to print out a workbook to write down notes at the beginning of the course).

(1) The landing page. The video explains the main points that a landing page should have, some of them less obvious than others and looks at an example landing page with opt-in form.

(2) Adwords. The only advertising method discussed so far is of course Adwords. The video explains how to setup campaigns including the use of the keyword suggestion tool. Also discussed is how to track your conversions - this is what I found the most useful which prompted me to adjust my auto responder straight away! A few tips are also given such as what conversion rates you should expect for keywords and how much you should be bidding for.

Well, so far so good. After the first two weeks of the course I have selected which markets I am going to attack first, I have a template for my landing pages and I'm looking forward to putting it all together.

Week 3 will look at forging the relationship with my list subscribers - something I am keen to see as I already have a small list.

The Affiliate X-Factor Review - Part 1

I have blogged before about products I stumble upon that get me excited again about making money online. Well, it's happened again.

I came across The Affiliate X-factor program, and liked the idea of being taken through each process of making money step by step via videos that I bought the program straight away. I thought I would blog about my progress here.

So first you are asked to watch the intro video that gives a quick preview for the six week course. You are asked to print out some notes sheets, the idea being that you are supposed to take notes while you watch the videos. I then waited a few days as I wanted to give this program my undivided attention so I could focus on it without any interuptions!

Week 1 - is about picking your markets, the video rightly points out this is very important as if you pick the wrong markets you have no chance before you are even started. There is quite an easy way to identify markets using Clickbank, so I identified some markets and jotted them down on my notes. Most of the markets I chose are of actual interest to me anyway, not just to make money from.

So I should get sent the next video in a weeks time, another idea I like - you focus on each step one week at a time. Week 2 is about driving traffic to a splash page, so I will update next week with my progress!
